HOW DID THE POUCH CAME ABOUT?

(BTW- yes, those are Mighty Moes' eyes right above,
enjoy Mighty Moe and Charlies' pictures...).

Don't you hate it when other people neglect to pick up after their dogs!!! I do.
And on several occasions I could be heard ranting and raving about "those kind
of people." Then one day, quite unexpectedly, my perfect pet, Mighty Moe,
did the unthinkable at a very crowded beach boardwalk, I being unprepared,
PANICKED. What could I do except try to casually cover it up with sand as
the eye's of passersby condemned me. "I meant to grab a bag but I didn't have
any pockets and I didn't want to carry a backpack and he already went once I rambled to the onlookers. Indignantly I cried you know S**T HAPPENS!"

Okay, maybe I wasn't that dramatic but I was embarrassed and felt a little irresponsible.

Anyway, as part of my brainstorming, I visited several pet stores to see what
was available. I found cutesy little containers for $8.99 that could only be used
with prepackaged bags for an additional $6.99. And to top it off - the bags were
scented "Baby Powder." Does anyone else find this kind of disgusting.

DOESN'T DOG POOP SMELL BAD ENOUGH! There were also a few other
options but they all required carrying something extra.

And to top it off, why would I want to buy plastic bags? does it make ANY sense?
I have so many bags from the market, why not put them to good use.
The only problem was, how do I remember to bring them along?
how do I make sure I have enough bags? Well, needless to say the creative
process started.

My problem is I don't always have pockets. Another problem was paying extra
money for bags. Especially since the ones I collect from the market seem to
reproduce by themselves in their handy IKEA holder.

So armed with lots and lots of bags from the market, and the conviction that
there must be other uses for them, a very creative mind and dogs that seems
to poop ten times a day, I began my creative process to solve this dilemma,
a product that will allow me to always have extra bags available, that is hands
and pocket free and lets us recycle something we have excess of. My solution
The Pick It Up Pouch.

Incase you wonder, yes, this is not my only invention, as a designer specializing
in the automotive industry, I work on developing anything from show vehicles to
custom ottomans. Visit The Sketch Farm and The Auttoman web sites for a full
line-up of my work...

I hope it will work for you too.
